 Product Introduction
Á¦¸ñ ¾øÀ½

Dongbu Steel has produced welded light H-beam since implementing high-frequency electric resistance welding facilities of Thermatool Inc., U.S.A. in 1971. Our thirty years of accumulated know-how is the driving force behind our role in leading the industry trend toward lightweight steel production.

Our efforts to develop new products have also paid off with unequalled flange beams with upper and lower sections that differ in width and thickness; web off-center beams; structural Tees for trusses; and more recently, small-size light gauge H-beams (50×45×3.2×3.2) that can replace small-size angles. Channel and square pipe allows us to produce and provide beam products of various shapes and sizes, meeting the needs of our clients, something impossible to accomplish using only conventional hot-rolled beams.
We will continue our commitment to customer satisfaction through endless effort, sincerity, and trust.

Features of H-beams

1)

Smooth surface from hot coils with superior cleanliness

2)

Excellent sectional properties despite a thin appearance

3)

Optimal design and easy performance of assembly and construction

4)

A variety of uses

Superior properties of H-beams

1)

Produces small-size, light gauge, and wide sized products not possible with conventional hot-rolled H beams

2)

Requires over 20% less supplementary materials in comparison with other beams of the same sectional property

3)

Reduces construction time because of quick delivery of products (average 2~7 days, maximum 15 days)

4)

Maintains a zero loss ratio of raw material due to a custom-made production system and cost cuts for treatment

(Length per piece 6~16m, product supply minimum unit: 10§¯)

#2 Web / #1 Flange / #3 Flange
The un-coiler transfers the hot coil to the welded pipe, which is connected to the end portion of the leveler.
The un-coiler consists of 3 sets: web, upper flange, and lower flange.

Beam Former
The beam former transforms the strip into an H-shape beam.

Welder
The welder continuously welds the H-Beam using the electric resistance welding method.

Pull-out Mill

The pull-out mill consists of drive rolls that continuously form and weld. The beam readjustment process also occurs.

Cut-off M/C

The cut-off machine cuts the H Beam at the length requested by the customer using the saw cutting method.

 Weldability
Á¦¸ñ ¾øÀ½

The quality and strength of flange-web welded parts are the most important elements of lightweight welded beams. The welding of Dongbu Steel's welded light H-beam is conducted under optimum conditions that have been put in place after a series of tests. Finished beams undergo rigorous inspection to guarantee the quality of our products.

Rate of weld metal disposition
The rate of weld metal (X) is obtained using the following equation.
Equation:X=w/tw×100(%)
tw: Where w represents the width of weld metal deposition and tw web thickness

* We guarantee a weld metal rate of 130% or higher

Tension tests
Tension tests are carried out by applying tension to the welded parts in a parallel direction with the web. This confirms whether or not the base metal or the welded part of the web suffers from a fracture exceeding the specified stress.
